PROGRAM - REVIT
ACT 116 TWO STORY

When I first started college, I took the intro Revit class. I only worked with Sketchup and AutoCAD up to this point, so I was very new to this, even if we tried to do it (and did not succeed) in my high school Career Center class. I did pick up pretty easily though, as we learned how to model a two story colonial from the ground up. The final part of this class however, was the best. Our final project was to render either an interior or exterior perspective. Most people chose interior, so I said lets do exterior, as the original house was very bland anyways. It took about three weeks to change everything perfectly to the way I wanted it, with the addition of the front porch, then a week to render on glossy paper, as I tested it about six times with different settings to get the right color on that kind of paper. Honestly, this is what I love, which is being creative and being able to show what I can do.

ACT 150:

AS AN EXTENSION OF ACT 116 AND Alongside with ACT 136, we learned how to do residential detailing. It was challenging getting back into Revit after a 3 week holiday break, but I think that this class is what really drove Revit into me where it is just natural instinct to know what to do on the program whenever I need to design or detail something. WE WERE ABLE TO DETAIL OUT AREAS WHERE A FOUNADTION MET THE GROUND, OR WHERE THE ROOF CONNECTED TO THE WALL, AND EVEN HOW A STAIRWAY SOFFIT WOULD BE DRAWN TO GET THE 6'-8" HEAD CLEARANCE. IT REALLY GAVE A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON ARCHITECTURE FOR ME HERE. What I liked the most here is that we got to pick out our own cabinets from Merillat Cabinetry as we did a cabinet schedule to make sure it all fitted together perfectly while designating certain cabinets for certain items for storage. The other cool project I really liked was the Site Map project. Looking at how a building sits to a main road is pretty fascinating to me and how traffic would move.

WE EVEN GOT TO MODEL THE STAIR ARRANGEMENT WE PERSONALLY DESIGNED!
